The staff is super friendly, and the rooms have a cool record player vibe. Breakfast was decent but lacked variety. The elevator can be a bit slow, which is inconvenient. Enjoyed the happy hour and the temporary art galleries around the area.

Charming vintage vibe with spacious suites and a fun bar area. Breakfast options were good, but Wi-Fi was unreliable. Enjoyed the happy hour and temporary art galleries nearby.

The rooms are spacious and feel like home, with fridges and microwaves for your snacks. The staff really goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome, especially at the bar where the bartenders are super friendly.
It wasn’t the cheapest option, but you definitely get your money's worth.

The room had a beautiful, rustic charm with exposed brick and tasteful decor. The bed was comfortable, which made for restful nights. the temperature control could have been more effective; it felt stuffy at times. I appreciated the separate living area, adding space for relaxation. The noise level was surprisingly low, allowing for peace during the stay. One downside was the cleanliness; the room could have used a more thorough cleaning before our arrival. Despite this, the overall ambiance and character of the room were enjoyable, making it a cozy place to unwind.

The location is superb, only a 15-minute stroll to Bourbon. The bar staff are amazing, and the wings I had there were mouthwatering.
The room smelled like a cleaning supply aisle.

Walking distance to shops and Bourbon Street, the location was a major plus. The hot breakfast buffet hit the spot, and the staff generally friendly and willing to help. the parking situation was frustratingly expensive—nearly $100 for two nights. The room, while decent-sized, had a confusing view and some cleanliness issues; dirty floors aren’t ideal. I found the personal assistant device unhelpful, and the lack of room service was disappointing. Still, the vibe was welcoming, and I appreciated the insights into local sights and eats. Just a few tweaks needed for a better experience!

My first room was gross with a pizza-stuffed sofa bed, and the second room smelled terrible. Only after three attempts did I finally get a decent room.

Service delivery matters. The front office team excelled, particularly Donna and Marlon, who provided valuable local insights. Appreciated the warmth of the evening staff member—her customer service was exemplary. The breakfast setup was commendable, featuring thoughtful touches like fresh fruit and clear labels. That attention to detail speaks volumes. Rooms were comfortable and well-equipped. A perfect base for exploring nearby attractions without needing a car. some aspects require attention. A few areas showed signs of age, and cleanliness is non-negotiable. Developments in staffing and food quality could transform the experience from good to exceptional. A sound option if you prioritize genuine hospitality over glitz.

The location is perfect for exploring all the sights! I loved my spacious room with an amazing view and its own living area. Plus, who can resist a record player with jazz records to set the mood? !
can just recommend 🥰✨

Nothing is perfect.

I absolutely loved the convenience of being just a 15-minute walk from the lively Bourbon Street and close to iconic attractions like the National WWII Museum only 750 meters away and the famous Cafe du Monde for their delicious beignets just around 1.5 km away, making my weekend strolls filled with breathtaking landmarks and lovely eateries; the hotel itself was nice and clean with comfortable beds and a lovely breakfast but some minor details like a bit of wear in the room furnishings could use more attention.

On the bright side, the location was fantastic; super close to the Downtown area and French Quarter, which was convenient for exploring. The old building had a charm to it, and I appreciated the free breakfast that came with the room rate. Now, onto the not-so-great parts: The covers on the bed weren't cozy, and the hallway on the 7th floor felt like a freezer. Plus, the view from my room was just of the neighboring balcony, which was a bit of a letdown. having only one elevator made things a bit inconvenient, especially during busier times. The staff, though, were lovely and very accommodating. I particularly enjoyed the separate bedroom and living room setup in my suite, and the bathroom was a good size. The record player in the room was a nice touch, adding a unique vibe to the space. my experience was a mix of highs and lows.

We spent our Christmas at a lovely hotel—full of character and charm. The rooms were clean, well-kept, and exuded an old-fashioned style that we adored. The complimentary breakfast was a delightful surprise, coupled with friendly and helpful staff. Conveniently located near the convention center and within a short walk to the outlet shopping center, aquarium, and France Quarter—perfect for exploring the city. The area was peaceful, allowing for a good night's sleep amidst the bustling city.

I felt like a fancy Southern belle in a historic district. The drinks helped me forget about the ghostly cold room. The walking tour made me fantasize about living in a grand mansion.
Freezing room, no hot water, and a phantom private entrance.

I chose Mercantile for its prime location near the French Quarter, and I was pleasantly surprised by the luxurious, fluffy towels in the room. The complimentary continental breakfast was a delightful way to start each morning.
Miscommunication about room accommodations.
